Hi guys! I'm looking for opinions on a donor embryo situation that our clinic has presented to us. We've been on their waiting list since September, and the coordinator just called last week to let me know that a new batch of embryos just entered my doctor's bank. Here are the details:
-Three 2pn embryos
-Frozen in 2004
-From a 31 y.o. healthy woman (no fertility issues...apparently MF only)
-Used donor sperm
-No pregnancies from this particular IVF cycle, but does have children through other means (don't know details though)
Everything about the match sounds perfect as far as coloring, education, other details. I'm just wondering what your thoughts are on this particular batch, and our chances. My doctor's success rates are in the 40% range for frozen embryo transfer cycles...and I still have to meet with him in the near future to see what his thoughts are. Dh and I keep going back and forth on it. We will have to pay $2500 to the clinic for the testing that they've had to do on the donor...including a "donor gratuity." Then, the procedure is another $2500 or so. We've had bunches of failed IVF cycles, with never a single positive.
Has anyone here used 2PN embryos? What about having a batch of "only" three? I'd love any insight or guidance anyone can provide!!
K
