Hi All.
I hope you don't mind a couple of questions I have about preparing for our new baby. I actually BF my twins for a little more than two years so I do "sort of" know what to expect but I have come up with a couple of questions I never encountered with my twins...
First of all...bottles. My plan is to exclusively bf my baby however I do want the option of having DH give a bottle of expressed breast milk. For my twins we used Avent bottles because that is what we had at the hospital (they did not get many bottles at all though). Are these "good" bottles? I was looking around BRU yesterday and was totally overwhelmed by the choices. What do you all do when/if you give a bottle?
Secondly, pumps. With my twins, insurance covered a year of a hospital grade rental because they were multiples plus a little early. This time around pump rental will not be covered and I don't want to pay the $50 out of pocket for a hospital grade because I am thinking I won't need one that powerful this time? In any case, I am a part of a moms group and one of the members is selling a Medela pump in style for $30. I am thinking this will do the trick for the few times I will be pumping (I am thinking it would be only for a few bottles per week) but does anyone have any feedback on this? Also, I am having a little trouble getting past a "used" breast pump...am I overthinking this one ?
Thanks so much for the feedback. This BF board was incredibly helpful to me through my nursing adventures w/ the twins and I am thankful to have a place to turn with all my questions.
Kristin
