Hi everyone,
I am 40.5 years old and just had an ectopic pregnancy via IVF. I hear the stats on this happening is somewhere between 2 to 5 percent of all IVF's so you can imagine my disappointment at being in that low range of statistics.
I need moral support. I have one more IVF left before I fold things up. Does anyone know what causes an ectopic pregnancy? Was it my fault? Is it my age? Was it just supreme bad luck?
I have to wait a few months and I don't feel like I have a few months to spare given my age. I'm so sad, so distressed and quite blue about what happened. It took two months of preparations, diet, acupuncture treatments, the whole nine yards, to be blessed with a positive bfp, to then land in the ER with emergency surgery being performed at 11:30 at night. I am sad!
Thank you for any insight or thoughts.
