Hi ladies. Geez.....where do I begin. I've been on these boards off and on for 6 years. Like most of us here, I've been through it all. I have always found such great support from this board. I come often. Offer advice since I've been there before, And, hopes that I can help someone else through this.
Now, I am back for some advice for myself (and hubby).
It took us 5 years to have our daughter. What a miracle. What a rollercoaster ride. We really want a sibling for our young daughter, but our embies didn't survive the thaw from our donor cycle in 2003. We were crushed!
We've been through...
History with own eggs:
7 IUI's
2 fresh, 2 FET's
2 chemicals
Later found out that my eggs are chromo. abnormal. Found through PGD. I was devastated to find out, at age 29, that my eggs were abnormal.
Moved to Donor eggs:
Fresh IVF - chemical
FET - my beautiful daughter
FET - loss at 8 weeks. Betas were horrible so RE thinks chrom issues with egg
FET - the remaining embies didn't survive the thaw.
We were shocked, devastated and confused. How could this happen with such a young donor (age 23)?
We keep tossing around our options. We would love to work with a couple and receive donor embryos. I've placed an ad online (miracles waiting). Nothing so far.
We thought about having our donor do another donation for us. She is not sure. It's been 6 years and she have moved on from this (has a family of her own now, etc).
Or, maybe adoption...which seems so scarey to me.
Ugh?
What is everyone else doing? another cycle? new donor?
Should I look at another site for embryo donation?
Thanks. Stacy
