Hi ladies - I was wondering your opinion about some Middle Eastern names. Let me give a little background. DH husband and I are expecting a baby boy in May via donor egg and GC carrier. After years of IF and m/c, I am thrilled about my little boy, but am feeling a little left out -- I swear, in the Level II my son already looks like his daddy...
I know I'm sounding a little whiney...but, I'm human. So, I'm half Arab and have an Arab name myself - which, was tough growing up. There was a lot of prejudice against Arabs in this country. With that said, I was thrilled when a man with an Arab based name was elected as President (as well as being AA). So, this gives me hope that the prejudice I experienced growing up is dissipating.
I would really like to give my son a Middle Eastern name, but I don't want him to experience the weirdness I did...so, I've selected some possible names that don't scream "foreigner" and was hoping for your thoughts on them. I guess I'm looking for unique, but not odd names that reflect my son's cultural heritage. Thanks, ladies. It feels strange, but really good to be posting over here...(you'll notice I like "i" endings):
