Hi Ladies,
Just completed a mock cycle in anticipation of cycling in October. At my final lining check (14), they did a sonohystogram. The results were not so great. Apparently they believe I have several uterine polyps. They want to do a Hysteroscopy to remove them before cycling. Has anyone had this procedure done to remove polyps, and how soon after did you cycle?
My other challenge is that my clinic is in CA, and I live in SC. I am currently in CA, but return to SC next week. My clinic says that they can possibly get me scheduled before I leave but I would have to pay out of pocket, or I can do the procedure at home where I would be covered by insurance. The problem is that I will only be home for 2 weeks, then will return to CA for my husband's homecoming from Afghanistan. I want to make sure that there are no barriers to intimacy (if you know what I mean
)...as he has been gone a year. I also do not think that I would be able to get a referral from my PCP and get scheduled with my RE in SC quickly enough. So my inclination is to have the procedure done in CA so that I will be all healed up before he gets home. Anyone have any ideas what a Hysteroscopy costs?
I am so bummed that all of this is happening at this stage of the game. I had a Sonohystogram done 2 years ago in SC and all looked good. I was scheduled to cycle in FL last July, but our donor canceled. I guess I should be grateful that it got cancelled, because my FL clinic used my earlier Sonohystogram results... which would have been inaccurate, and with the polyps would have definitely lowered our odds for success. My greatest concern is what affect polps/and their removal have on the success of DE. Anyone have polyps removed and moved on to successful cycle?
Sorry so long and rambling... I just want to make the right decision, and you ladies on these boards are the best resource for thoughtful, insightful and honest input.
Thanks bunches,
Stephanie
