I recently started going back to Church (really because my mom needs a ride there). Oddly, having been away for so long, I find it really has helped me a lot. I particularly like one young priest at my mom's parish. And it feels nice to "belong" to a Church community again.
But I just am having a godawful time thinking about the Pope. I have never liked him....the Church's refusal to take responsibility for the sex abuse scandal literally pains me...I have heard that this guy is "coming after" the nuns for being feminists, etc. How to stay in a Church when you don't agree with its leadership??? (Btw, I am not really well read on all this...more based on limited reading, emotion).
