This might be a silly question but I'd like to know: is it possible to enter into a DE cycle/relationship without having any attorney-assisted documents drawn up? I am reviewing a retainer agreement for legal services from an atty, and since they repeatedly state the limitations of their legal services, and it sounds mainly like they serve to assist in correspondence with a second atty. assigned to the Donor, I would like to know if anyone has done this business of drawing up a Donor contract on their own? Is it like real estate transactions, where the norm is to use a certified agent, but it is also done without a professional? Any thoughts would be a help! Given the already exorbitant costs involved, and given that we are well aware of the "non-guaranteed," nature of all steps involved in the DE process, I would just like to know my options, if any, before I retain a lawyer and commit to the additional cost involved....Thank you for any thoughts in advance...!
