Hi!
I\'m new at this...
Can\'t stress enough how thrilled I am to have found this Board as I have been searching forever for an appropriate one for my age (I'll be 47 in March).
Second marriage, dh and I have 1 adult son and 1 adult daughter, respectively, from previous marriages (1 each).
I had an ET last November (donor egg), but got a BFN. Needless to say, I was crushed, and spent a lot of time both crying and going over the two-week waiting period (sort of a post-mortem), wondering if I may have done something wrong, thus contributing to the failure of the embryos to implant...
After my BFN, I was instructed to go back to see my doctor to discuss the next step, but I was too depressed. Told her I would call when I was ready. Finally decided on February. They then said I should go on day two of my cycle (!). What cycle? Now that I am off all meds, I do not have a cycle...
I was put on Estrace (tabs), Baby Aspirin and Progesterone (2ml, IM) by my doctor, but from browsing the web and this board, I've realised that there are a number of tests, as well as additional medications/hormonal supplements that doctors prescribe, including Medrol, a steroid hormone which assists in pre-embryo implantation...
For those of you who had successful IVFs, what was done differently by your doctors and what, if any, other medications were prescribed? Do you have any tips I could use, too? One lady mentioned Viagra suppositories; how do those work? What are they prescribed for?
Any information and morale-boosting would be extremely helpful and most appreciated, as I am so terribly nervous about undergoing the FET. What if it fails again? After this cycle, I will only be able to do one more - and that will be it. My dh will definitely not contemplate undergoing another DE IVF procedure due to costs.
Thank you ladies, and good luck to all of us!!!
Dee
