Hello -
This is my first post and I am desperately seeking some advice! I'm 31 years old and was diagnosed with stage 4 endometriosis in 2000 after a cyst ruptured which resulted in a laptorotomy and removal of my right ovary and half of my left ovary. For the last five years I've had a supressed cycle on continous birth control and no problems with endo. I did the clomid challenge back in 2004 and my FSH was 12.9. I had an ultrasound last week that showed an antrafollical count of 3. So now that we're finally ready to start the process we have to decide if we want to give IVF a shot with my very few eggs or go straight to donor eggs. We've been to two different RE's who have different opinions. They both give me a very low chance of success using my own eggs (5-15%) but say that the one things I have going for me is my age and it's more a problem of quantity instead of quality. So I guess the question is it really worth the cost of trying my own eggs financially, emotionally and physically with such a low success rate? Any advice would be truly appreciated. Thanks!
