DD is 10 days old, and a slow nurser. She spends a minimum of 45 mins per feed (about every 3 hrs), but seems to be cluster feeding (a term I just learned on kellymom!) in the morning and just doesn't seem to be satisfied after going for over 1.5 hrs. My milk is in, and she seems to be latching on fine.
A few questions (and I'm looking for encouragement that things DO get better!):
- Is slow nursing in the beginning normal? Does it tend to get better?
- I pump once a day so that I can get a break at night. She takes the bottle in about 10 mins. Is it normal that she takes the bottle so easily, yet takes so long to nurse?
I'm exhausted (recovering from a C-section). For DD #1, due to numerous reasons, I pumped exclusively for 6 mths but couldn't BF. This time around, I really want to - but think it is less tiring to pump and feed given how long the feeds are taking. Please let me know it gets better and when.
Thanks!
