Hi. I am a FTM and moved over from the pregnancy board to here. I gave birth via c-section on March 1st.
My son is about 10 days old. In the hospital, I was breastfeeding him when he was born and he did great. My milk came in maybe on day 3 or 4 of my son's life.
Came home and I got so wound up with the sore nipples and overwhelmed with being a FTM and still trying to heal from the c-section. I went through the crying phase for several days and didn't get any sleep. My husband took over the feedings just so I could rest b/c I would have been no good to my son the way I was.
The nurse at my pediatrician's office consulted with me and said he definitely latching on well and meant to be breastfed. LOL
Now that I've adjusted, I've been trying to feed him and he has little interest in feeding. His latch isn't as strong as it was and I know it's due to him being bottle fed for a couple of days. We went out and even got the special bottles that are supposed to be designed for breastfeeding moms. He'll latch on and feed for maybe 5 minutes in the morning and then will refuse waiting (or fussing) for a bottle.
I do pump as well. Is it too late for me to get him to want to nurse again?
Thanks for any help you can provide.
