WE have planned to go to Captiva Island in July, but this oil spill is getting me nervous. I am thinking maybe I should cancel the trip. I have booked the hotel but not airfare yet. I love the water and we planned on swimming in it during out entire stay ( 4days only) but if the oil reaches the coast then i assume swimming will be off limits. Am I wrong for thinking this? For those living near the coastline what are the news reports saying. News in NY is talking about it but not in great length.
Do you think I should cancel? I am going just for the sand and beach.
