Why do people think that if a baby is not sleeping that they are hungry? I am not starting solids until 5 1/2 mos. per my doctor's recommendation for breastfed babies. I may start one week earlier. They are 5 mos. right now. My baby girls have done wonderfully sleeping through the night and just today I ask a friend how long I should let them cry if they are not taking naps and her response was she thought they were hungry. Well, if they are, then I nurse. Introducing solids is just getting babies used to textures and ruling out allergies, right? I have a son who is almost 3 and that is exactly when we started with him. This putting rice ceareal in a babies bottle at 3 mos. just drives me crazy. I can''t believe people actually think this works-it is just an coincidence. My mother thinks this in addition to my friend but doesn't tell me what to do because she knows I won't listen anyway. BTW, Mattie is about 17 lbs. and Ava is about 14lbs. They are both very healthy. Babies main source of nutrition the first year is breastmilk or formula. Anyhow, just needed to vent and see what you all think. If you think I am wrong, please tell me. I just don't think I am.
