What a bummer - I tried to do a good deed and it backfired.
I had 2 infant carseats in excellent condition that I was hoping someone could use. I knew that I couldn't donate them to Goodwill and I tried a couple of other charities. For obvious reasons, they are difficult to donate.
Anyway, I listed them for free on Craigslist and got a ton of responses. I contacted 2 different young moms in need who wanted them immediately. I told them that I was had 2, and would set them on my porch while I was at work - one for each of them, and to please only take one.
Well, either the first gal took both, or someone else came along and swiped it off the porch, but when the 2nd gal got here, the porch was empty.
Now, she's mad at ME, saying that I tricked her and am trying to take advantage of poor people. She emailed a bunch of nasty things about me being in my big rich house (uh, not true) and laughing about it. She told me that the right thing to do would be to buy her a new seat - WTF?
I have a mind to go off on her, but
1. She knows where I live
2. She has my email
3. She's probably acting this way out of desperation
Not sure how to proceed - WDYT?
