Yesterday I went for my u/s which I get every 2 week and the tech said that my cervix is shortening and showing funneling? from the posts I have read the cervix is not near anything I see posted here but here are the stats.
1 mo ago cervix measured 4.6
2 wks ago measured 4.2 (visit with peri)
yesterday measured 3.6 and showed funneling happening. baby A's head is right there as well. I am only 18 wks today with b/g twins. They sent me over to my regular dr who put me on bedrest and said that there is nothing they would do if I went into labor. I have been having what i thought were BH contracts as well and the night before they were starting to hurt and I could feel my stomach getting tight. My dr said that even if I knew they were true contracts coming to the hospital wouldn't matter as they wont use meds to stop labor. he also said that it was too late/risky to put in a cerclage. he did say he was going to call my peri to let him know what is going on but I haven;t heard from either of them since I left his office. while I know my measurements are good compared to most here should I just stick with the bedrest and see what happens or try and go for a 2nd opinion? does the funneling happen automatically when the cervix starts to shorten? Im confused on all this and dh and I cant agree on which way to go. how quickly can these measurements change and do they ever reverse with bedrest? sorry that this was so long. I appreciate any advice you can give me.
