Kyritsi on "Did we have bad luck"

I had a donor egg transfer last week. We shared a donor with another recipient. She produced 21 eggs. I received 11. 5 survived to be fertilized. 3 became embryos and two survived to day 3 and we had both transferred. I am still optimistic that I am pregnant. i feel pretty sick and my acupuncturist says my pulses indicate I am pregnant. So I am OK at this point with how thnigs worked out BUT I am reading posts from women who received 30 eggs and had 12 embryos.

I really thought we would have some embryos to freeze at the end of this cycle. I didn't expect to have only two embryos. IS this typical? Should we have expected a healthy donor to produce more eggs that would survive to be fertilized and more eggs that would develop into healthy embryos?

Any statistics on this anywhere. Of course I didn't want to complain to the clinic - there are no guarantees and we are grateful for what we got, but is this normal? We don't think we will be able to try this again due to the cost and the fact that the insurance will only cover IVF for me once. Any thoughts will help.
