Hi Ladies,
I recently went through my first IVF cycle unsuccessfully. I am 41 years old, my FSH is 13.1 and E2 is 85. Just 11 months prior it was 10.1 and 50 (wow, what a year will do!).
I was on the Micro Dose Lupron Flare protocol. I took 40 units of Microdose Lupron for 17 days, 450 IU Bravelle/150 IU Menopur for 15 days and then the HCG trigger shot. We had 5 embryos and only one made it to the blast stage at day 5. I believe the average number of stimulation days is 11, is that right? My question is can the extra 4 days or so of stimulation medications compromise the egg quality. My doctor wouldnt answer the question directly, just said my egg quality was \"poor\"...I can't help but to think maybe they were poor becuase we fried the eggs with 15 days of stimulaiton. He's suggesting the same protocol for the next round. I dont know much about the meds and am trying to learn, but I've got to believe there's a different protocol that may not compromise my egg quality so much.
Any thougths or experiences is appreicated!
