I'm just wondering if this has ever happened to anyone, or if you have heard of this happening?
My History: May 28th had U/S at 6w2d and it revealed pregnacy in the left tube - Seen on u/s sac and small baby. Had emergency surgery that night (two weeks ago).
So i just wanted to see what you ladies think....am i over-reacting, should i worry???
My Dr. that did my surgery (tubal ligation / salpingectomy) -removal of ectopic pg. and both tubes (this is 2nd ectopic) just called me at work to let me know that the pathology report from my left falopian tube came back (the tube that the pg was in). He said he is really concerned because it came back with "no fetal tissue" remains in it?????
His concern is where did it go - he figures one of the following:
*It has fallen into the pelvic region when he was pulling the tube out of the little insicion.
- It will either be re-absorbed by my body
- It could possibly have been sucked up with the suction machine
- Or it very rarely could attach to an organ within my pelvic region ie: bowels etc. Which would cause a lot of problems.
He wants me to have my hcg tested next week - If it has attached to something the hcg will remain elevated (low) but elevated in my system. If it hits 0 - Then it should be ok.
I cannot believe this - I have never ever heard of this happening??? Has anyone else? Should i be worried?
Sorry for the vent, i just need some advice.
Amy
