Hi - I've been on the boards a long time, and thought this would be a good place to check on info for a friend. A friend of mine is 37, will be 38 in the spring. She was asked to be a donor by her sister (who is in her early 40s). My friend has had two healthy pregnancies, her youngest is 2 yo. She's hesitant to act as a donor as she feels like she's wasting her sister's time - the clinic her sister uses says they've never used anyone over age 36 as a donor. Obviously using your sister has some pros - she wouldn't have to pay her, etc., but if you're going to go through the process (and they can't afford to do multiple rounds of IVF, they've done one already with own eggs), would you just spend the $ and get a younger proven donor?
They're just doing some research on the process and I thought I'd check in here to see what people think.
