I just transferred assignments and now work security at a county hospital. They are under an 'order to correct' because it just came out that some of the staff had set up a makeshift 'beauty salon' and were giving each other eyebrow waxes and manicures....IN THE NICU!!!!! I just cannot believe they'd do that, and would be so angry if my babies were in that NICU. The news story said that "no babies were harmed," but how do they know what being exposed to those chemicals may have done to the babies in the long run? WTF is wrong with people, and they obviously are in the wrong line of work. Now we literally have to patrol with footbeats in the L & D and NICU. Um, that's not really law enforcement related, as it's not a crime, per se, but that's the order. Week #2 here and I still think it was a good move, but man, it's really different.
