I am posting this for anyone that may have to travel and stay overnight in NYC. My DH and I just returned from our 2nd trip to NYC to see Dr. Stone. Our first trip was for the CVS 2 weeks ago. We stayed at the Hotel Newton on Broadway and 95th. This hotel was nice and convenient. They were running online deals so we got a queen room with a private bath for $95 + tax. It was a short taxi ride to Dr. Stone's office (about $6). While we were there as we were walking back from dinner we saw the "Days Hotel around the corner on 94th St. We stopped in to ask about their rates as we had reservations at Hotel Newton for our second trip, however the roome rate was signifcantly more $148 after taxes. They quoted us around $85. We went back to our room at Hotel Newton and checked online. We got a queen room at the Days Hotel for our second stay with a AAA discount for $82 after taxes. That's almost a $60 savings from what we would have paid at Hotel Newton on the second stay...so we cancelled our Hotel Newton reservation. So...we stayed at the Days Hotel on Sunday. I have to say for the money it was fine....but it is not as nice as the Hotel Newton. It is in need of renovations (new carpet, paint, wallpaper, etc), but the room/bath/bed were clean and the bed was SUPER comfortable. We were literally there less than 12 hours so it was fine for us. Also, they offer luggage storage for free (Hotel Newton charges $5) and free wireless internet (Hotel Newton charges $5). So...overall it was a huge bargain! I would recommend it...but not if you are looking for luxury (we weren't). Just wanted to share.
