Hi there!
I am 22 weeks pg with a baby boy. Because of a previous cone biopsy, I am at high risk for incompetent cervix and am being monitored once a week via trans. vag. u/s. So far my cervix has remained long and closed but I've been having shooting pains in my cervix that seem to be increasing as the weeks have progressed. The doctor and u/s techs have tried to find a cause of the pain and the only thing they can identify is calcifications in my cervix, most likely from the cone biopsy. I've actually had two u/s techs now ask me, "When did you have a cerclage placed?" b/c apparently it looks the same as a cerclage on an u/s at first glance.
Have any of you had anything like this? I want to think that it's just normal stretching but of course I am worried. I've been having the pains a lot over the past 12 hours - there's no rhythm to them, but it's still disconcerting.
My next check is tomorrow AM.
Thanks for any help or light you can shed on this!
