Im about to do my 2nd and last IVF in July. The first one, was in Oct. and I was 40. I ended up with 16 eggs, 14 fertilized, 3 blasts were transfer on Day 5 (2 were hatching). BFN. It is determined, from this experience that I have an implantation issue, most likely immune related and for this iVF, I am doing Intrilipids, a natural treatment before ER to protect eggs when transferred back.
My Dr. feels i will have the same response again, and hopefully produce as many embryos. Im on a different protocol however this time with him, but he is a very well known Dr. and knows best! :-)
Question: I am now 41, and IF I produce just as many eggs, how many do I transfer? Im thinking, with the new protocol and the Immune treatment, I could be successful this time, and IF I have 5 good eggs, even if they are 5 day blasts...I should do 5. At my age, chances of multiples, twins are so small, and if the percentage is low as it is <20%, 1 out of 5 is 20%.
Has anyone transferred more than 3 at the age over 40?? What was the outcome??
Thank you for your input!
