My 2.5yo dd was diagnosed with the flu a couple days ago and prescribed Tamiflu. The Children's Hospital said if we started showing any symptoms we should immediately get on the medication as well. Here is the problem, I definitely feel like I am coming down with something and my PCP said I need to start the Tamiflu but I am breastfeeding my twin boys and it is a category C drug. My boys are only 7 months old (5 months adjusted) and I am not ready to wean, especially like this. I am devastated. I know I could pump and dump but I don't have enough frozen to last while I am on the medication and realistically between working f/t and caring for 3 kids under 3 I just won't be able to keep up with the pumping. I can't stop crying. WWYD, just not take the medicine and hope for the best? I have read mixed reviews online about whether it is really safe or not, do I risk it? I looked at kellymom and they don't have tamiflu listed so that didn't help. Does anyone know about this medication at all?
