My DD is 22m. She has started getting into cabinets, drawers, etc. in the kitchen.

So, we installed the safety latches that you press down & release, when closed they \"latch on\" to a plastic catch installed inside the drawer.

Took her about 2.5 seconds flat to figure them out. Heck, it took me nearly 2 hours just to install them. (She can even \"feel out\" the ones on the drawers that are over her head but that she can still reach!)

So, we installed handles on the cabinets and used rubber bands (combined with the latches). That took her about a week to figure out.

I am at my wit's end.

How can I keep her out of my kitchen drawers/cabinets short of installing a gate all the way accross my kitchen? (It's a space of about 7 feet, so it would require a HUGE gate if I go that route.)

Any suggestions? I'm stumped....

Thanks,
~Brandi

P.S. - She DOES have a cabinet she is allowed to play in with plastic/tupperwares that has no latches. Should I put a stop to that? Am I sending her a mixed message by allowing her one cabinet?
