My BF adventure started almost 1 year ago with pumping non-stop in the NICU for my 32 weeker twin boys. It has never been easy, between low supply, poor latches, no weight gain, severe dairy/soy allergies, reflux, etc but we kept at it and I made it just 1 week shy of their first birthday! My one son with the poor weight gain/allergy issues needs to go on Elecare so we've slowly been transitioning him over to that and he nursed for the last time on Friday and I will pump for what will probably be the last time today or tomorrow. I still have a decent frozen stash that I am dividing up between the two boys and should last us about another month. My other ds weaned himself a little while ago but has continued to get EBM, he is now transitioning to whole milk. It is so bittersweet, there were so many tears but when it did work, I loved it. I was getting dressed this morning and S was sitting there frantically signing for milk and I just went over and kissed his sweet head and I got the biggest smile ever, it was like he knew this stage was done. I just want to thank all of you that supported me through my struggles. Without you, I probably would have given up long ago. I would have loved to keep going until 18 months but the timing just feels right now and I know I have done the best I could for my boys and they are thriving. So thank you!

Meg
