We are done! I am excited in that I have my body to myself--pg with with the twins was hard (hee hee, my big body had a mind of its own) and then I went into exclusively nursing them (minus the first two weeks were they each got one night time bottle of formula), up until this last Friday! Friday I came down with a fever and felt really dehydrated Sat morning. I figured I won't nurse them (we were down to only that a.m. feeding), and they didn't really ask for it either.... So, a couple of days shy of them turning eighteen months we are finished. As much as I am happy, I am also a little sad, because they are my babies, and who knows if what will be (hey, it took 6 IVFs, and several losses until I had my girls).... I wish we can have more babies....
I have to say thank you to you guys who made it possible for me go at this for as long as I did! You guys really rocked, I remember that first week was horrible, and you guys always wrote back with encouragement and support, thank you a million times! Gosh, I dealt with latch issues, sleepy newborns who needed to be awoken & stimulated to eat, cracked extremely painful nipples that caused me to cry (more painful than my c-section wound!), multiple painful clogs, several rounds of thrush, nursing strikes, dairy intolerance (had to cut dairy out for a while).... I am so grateful to have made it this long, when in the beginning that one month goal seemed like an eternity! I think it was a miracle and the encouragement that I got from you guys and DH, of course!
