I had the weirdest thing happen today and need some input.
I attended a yearly fundraiser/luncheon and at the end there is usually a grand prize drawing of $1500. The whole thing lasted 4 hours and was supposed to end at 2. I was supposed to go home to take my IVF meds at 1:30. I waited till 2 still no drawing, 2:15 nothing. Finally, I gave my ticket to a friend and said if I win go get my prize. Of course thinking what is the chance! There were over 200 ppl there...
Anyhow, she calls me an hour later. Guess what they drew my ticked as a winner! She went up there and said "I am so happy, this is my friend's ticket". The ticket clrearly states must be presnt to win. So despite the fact that the drawing was 45 minutes later than it was supposed to be, the fact that I was there for 4 hour and support the program every year, they dropped my ticket the redrew the ticket and gave away the prize to someone else.
My friend said, everyone who knew me at the luncheon and knew I was going through IVF was furious and thought I shoud have been the one to get the prize, but I just wasn't there and that was is and end of story.
At first I consoled my friend, who seemed very upset about what happened. But now I am thinking... hm. Did she really have to announce it was "her friend's ticket"? WWYD?
