gymtourl on "In house Donor - contract questions"

Hi - I would appreciate some input regarding donor contracts. The contract included with our agency is pretty straight forward (we are going to be using in house donor from our clinic), but I have a few questions - any input would be appreciated.

First, they state that any eggs over 20 will be frozen and if we achieve pregnancy then they remaining eggs become the property of the clinic. I plan to ask them to remove that, but I wonder if I have to give a reason for removing it. One, we aren't convinced this will work so we want to have as many tries possible. Plus, if it is successful we prefer to find a couple to donate remaining embryos to. I hope to be lucky enough to be in this situation so am comfortable with having frozen embryos leftover even we are blessed and get to complete our family the first time.

Also, they have another clause that states that if something happens to both IP after retrieval, but before fertilization that the eggs become the property of the clinic. I am not sure where I would want them to go, but I feel I should be able to have some say. If I have already paid for them shouldn't I have a right to leave them to someone? Has anyone ever run across this or have any thoughts on how this should / can be handled?

Thank you for taking the time to read - I can certainly use the input of others with this.

Anna
