Hi All,
I am currently 7w2d pregnant with twins. There are a hundred reasons why a singleton is better for us (I have had many miscarriages over the years, etc etc) but it took us 7 ivf cycles to get us here and I am wondering if you could give me some info regarding the following:
1. when did you tell your RE you were considering SR? He is new to me (6 cycles somewhere else and then we got lucky one the first cycle at RMA of NJ) I know we told him early on we only wanted one, but I don't know if he remembered. I am not sure how to approach this because during my weekly ultrasounds it all happens so fast and there doesn't seems to be a moment to talk about it.
2. Any experience reducing two to one after having treatments at RMA of NJ? How do they react--are they judgemental?
3. when do I have to get moving on an appt? I see from this board SR should happen around 11-12 weeks, but I don't know if you need to make an appt well in advance.
4. Neither Dr. Stone and Dr Evans accept my insurance, but my insurance will cover them as out-of-network and I can get reimbursed 70%. Does anyone know how much it costs?
5. Finally, (and most importantly) how did you deal with seeing the heartbeats each week and then doing the SR? Even though I know it is the right decision for my husband and me, I can't seem to reconcile the fact that we would be losing one life (and that life could grow up to cure cancer or be president, if you know what I mean).
Anyway, thanks so much for this board--I've learned a lot and it has made the process easier just by reading through all the posts.
