Anyone else under 30 years old with only male factor fertility problems?

So I admit to being a little obsessed with figuring out what my success rate will be for this IVF cycle (#1, male factor so we are doing ICSI). I have been frustrated with the lack of information on IVF success for women under 30 as well as women who don’t have any reproductive problems (most IVF centers only post an under 35 success rate and do not distinguish male factor only from female problems). Since the average 34-35 year old woman likely has very different success rate than the average 27 year old woman, I find these stats to be pretty irrelevant.

So basically, what I found is that women our age (I am 27, with no reproductive problems) are much more suited to the egg donor category, that are posted on many IVF center websites (the average age for the egg donor is 28 years old and they do not have any reproductive problems).

Additionally, women under 30 are very likely to produce high quality embryos (even with male factor, since ICSI basically circumvents the male problems) and are very likely to be able to transfer a blastocyst (day 5 transfer) rather than an 8 cell embryo (day 3 transfer).

Here are the stats I found on blastocyst transfers:

Infertile couples average about a 50% success rate with a 2 blast. transfer
Egg donor group averages about an 80% success rate with a 2 blast transfer

This gave me a lot of hope! Wanted to pass it along…let me know if you want to read the full info.

Lots of luck!

Morgan
