Has anyone heard of a technique called Cytoplasmic transfer? Apparently the FDA banned this approach in the US in the 90's due to lack of long term studies but it is being practiced in other parts of the world. This offers hope for high FSH women- and I would love to know if any clinics in the US are doing experimental trials with it? The healthy part of a donor egg is injected into the weaker egg of the recipient, and the idea is that 99% of the DNA of the recipient egg is maintained while the donor egg only accounts for 1% of the developing embryo. In essence there are 3 biological contributors, but the child is the biological offspring of the recipient mother. This is like science fiction and truly fascinating. I wish this option were available NOW and known to be safe!!! Does anyone know more about this???
