The thread about what areas to avoid in NYC got me thinking-- I'm sure we've all privately discussed it with our partners, but if you are willing to share, I'd be SO interested in hearing what your plans would be. I mean - your REAL plans, not imaginary ones.
Here is ours: We sell our NY house and buy a place in New Orleans where it's warm and DH went to school and loved it there. I visted with him once and loved it too. I want to buy an old Victorian house and fix it up. My "must haves" list is it must have a gravel driveway (like in the old days) a large front porch with a swing, and peeling paint on the porch. I just love that look.
We turn each bedroom into a gorgeous guestroom and not think twice about it being a kid's room. We get cars we want and not "practical" cars, and make friends with the lively and colorful people who live there, of which, I am going to assume, some must be CF. I become active in the arts community (what I did before I got fired due to IVF) and DH telecommutes with the same job he has now (he can do that, thankfully) Oh, and we get like 2 more doggies, at least.
And that's our life if we can't have kids.
