Onthe train today I sat across a mom and a chubby cherub of a baby. 5 months old. Delicious rolls all over her. A delightful baby. Then I noticed that almost hidden by the neckrolls, is a beaded neclace. I asked the mom if it is ok for a baby that young to wear neclaces as I was told that it is a strangulation hazzard. Actually, as we were chatting, the neckace kept getting caught on the buttons of her blouse as she was bouncing her on her lap.
She said that the baby has to wear the neckace in order for her to grow healthy teeth, according to her tribal beliefs.
